PUNCH GRAFTING

OPEN PATCH TEST

This represents the cornerstone of treatment of refractory, stable and localised vitiligo.

In certain situations the allergens are needed to be kept open on the surface (instead of closing) to avoid excess penetration producing anaphylaxis and other complications, especially when there is history of contact urticaria. This forms the scientific basis of open patch test.
